Is smoking allowed in the chalets or TreeLofts?

Smoking is allowed on the terrace and the balconies but is not permitted in the chalets or TreeLofts.

Am I allowed to bring my pet? Is there a dog sitter in the HochLeger Chalet Refugium?

Yes, your four-legged friend is welcome. Upon request, we will be happy to organize a dog sitter. Cost € 35.00 per night (not incl. food). Please be aware that dogs are not allowed in the TreeLofts!


At check-in, you will receive an access code for the Internet. WLAN is available throughout the HochLeger Chalet Refugium for free.

Are there bed linens for allergy sufferers?

All of our bed linens are hypoallergenic.

Is there a pillow menu? Can I select a pillow?

We have a special pillow menu. You can find more information in our guest directory or at the reception desk.

Is there a laundry, ironing, and dry cleaning service?

We offer a laundry, ironing, and dry cleaning service! These services are offered in DasPosthotel.

Is there a luggage storage room?

You are welcome to use the luggage storage room in DasPosthotel.

Are children allowed in the TreeLofts?

The TreeLofts are suited for 2 people, and there is no possibility to add an extra bed. 

Can flowers be arranged as a gift?

We will be happy to organize flowers as a gift. Our team at the reception desk is available to help anytime. We charge a service fee of € 10.00.

Is there an e-charging station in the HochLeger Chalet Refugium?

In DasPosthotel, there are 2 charging stations, and there are 16 in MalisGarten.

Is there a fitness room in the HochLeger Chalet Refugium?

There is no fitness room in the HochLeger – Chalet Refugium, but upon request, you can use the fitness room in DasPosthotel. Use at your own risk! 
Equipment by the company Matrix Fitness: stationary bicycle, rowing machine, treadmill, functional training tower, dumbbells, and an adjustable weight bench.

Is there a special birthday package?

You will find our current offers/packages at www.zillerseasons.at.

Are there church services in town?

Every Sunday at 8:30 am and 7:00 pm, a Catholic service is held in the parish church (subject to change!). Our team at the reception desk will be happy to inform you of additional times for Mass. 

Can I order gift certificates?

You can quickly and easily order your desired gift certificate at https://www.zillerseasons.at/gutschein/.

Are charging devices available in the HochLeger Chalet Refugium?

A variety of charging devices for mobile phones are available to borrow for free during your stay. They are available at the reception desk in DasPosthotel.

Questions about booking & payment conditions

How can I pay my hotel bill?

Please transfer the deposit within 6 days of accepting the vacation offer to the specified bank account. After receiving the deposit, the reservation is guaranteed and confirmed. This will be credited in full to the hotel bill.

  • Please pay the hotel bill upon arrival or transfer the amount in advance. Within the EU and from the EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) you can make SEPA transfers in euros without additional charges. Transfers from Switzerland can be made to our Swiss account.
  • We gladly accept your credit card (Maestro, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, V-Pay).

How long do I have to make a cancellation?

Cancellation fees are calculated as follows:

  • From reservation confirmation until 30 days before arrival date: free cancellation possible. The deposit paid will be fully refunded as a value voucher, no refund possible. The voucher is valid indefinitely and can be redeemed in all ZillerSeasons facilities.
  • 30 to 08 days before arrival date: 80 % cancellation fee of the total amount.
  • From 07 days before date of arrival or in case of early departure: Cancellation fee 100 % of the total amount
  • No refunds in case of early departure.
  • Explicitly stated non-refundable rates are not cancelable or changeable.
  • By completing the booking you accept the booking and cancellation conditions as stated.

For carefree vacation planning, Travel Safe cancellation policies apply in the event of a pandemic.

Cancellation conditions for Non Refundable and Last Minute Rates

  • The booking is non-cancellable and non-modifiable.
  • The total amount will be retained as a cancellation fee in any case - no refunds.
  • By completing the booking you accept the booking and cancellation conditions as stated.
  • For a carefree vacation planning, the Travel Safe cancellation conditions apply in the event of a pandemic.

Is a reservation even without a guarantee possible by credit card?

You can also pay your deposit by bank transfer.

Questions about arrival & departure

When can I check in to my chalet or TreeLoft? Can I arrive earlier?

Your chalet or TreeLoft is available for check-in starting at 3:00 pm. You can also book an early check-in for € 28.00 per person. Subject to availability!

Where can I check in to the HochLeger Chalet Refugium?

Your room key is available at DasPosthotel, Rohrerstraße 4, 6280 Zell am Ziller.

When can I start using the spa?

All amenities in the HochLeger Chalet Refugium are available for free as soon as you check in. If you would like to use the spa prior to check-in, you can book this for € 28.00 per person.

How long can I stay in the chalet or TreeLoft on departure day?

On your departure day, you can stay in your chalet or TreeLoft until 11:00 am.

Would you like to stay longer? No problem. You can book a late check-out for € 28.00 per person. Based on availability!

How do I reach the HochLeger Chalet Refugium from the airport?

We will gladly organize a shuttle to the airport. We ask that you make a booking in advance at the reception desk. 

How do I reach the HochLeger Chalet Refugium by car?

  • Arrival by car 
    • Coming from Switzerland: Autobahn A12 towards Salzburg – ZILLERTAL exit
    • Coming from Germany: A 8 MUNICH towards Innsbruck – ZILLERTAL exit
      After 20 km turn at the "Zell Nord" exit – continue 800 m and you will reach DasPosthotel for check-in. From DasPosthotel drive toward Aschau and you will reach the HochLeger in ca. 15 min.  

Is there a shuttle service?

Yes, we offer a shuttle service. We ask that you make a booking in advance at the reception desk. 

Is there parking opportunities?

Yes, in the HochLeger – Chalet Refugium, you can conveniently park your car in the carport. 

Are snow chains required to reach the HochLeger - Chalet Refugium?

In Austria, cars are required to be equipped with winter equipment from November 1 to April 15 of the following year. During this time, cars are allowed to drive during winter road conditions only if all 4 tires are winter tires or snow chains are on at least 2 driving wheels (snow chains are only allowed if the road is completely or almost completely covered in snow or ice).  

On the mountain road up to the HochLeger - Chalet Refugium, snow chains are required except for cars with 4-wheel drive. 

Questions about doctors & pharmacies

Is there a doctor nearby?

Yes, there are doctors directly in Aschau (ca. 4 km) as well as in Zell am Ziller (ca. 9 km).

Is there a pharmacy nearby?

The nearest pharmacies are located in Stumm (ca. 8 km) and in Zell am Ziller (ca. 9 km).

What should I do if I suddenly become ill?

Get in touch with the reception desk, and we will be happy to organize a doctor's appointment. 

Do you need a doctor or emergency medical services?

Simply get in touch with the reception desk, and we will be happy to help organize a doctor's appointment or emergency medical services. Emergency number: 144.

What precautions are taken for the protection of guests and staff?

Questions about sports & recreation in winter

Where can I purchase my ski pass?

You can conveniently purchase your ski pass (for 2 or more days) at the reception desk in DasPosthotel and at the valley stations. 

Which ski areas are located nearby?

The following ski areas are located nearby:
Kaltenbach Hochzillertal – Hochfügen ski area, Zillertal Arena, Mayrhofen ski area.

How do I reach the Zillertal Arena ski area?

From the HochLeger, head out directly to the slopes in "Ski Optimal Hochzillertal" and carve down into the valley, where the train will take you to Zell am Ziller. Here, the ski bus will take you to the Zillertal Arena. When you ski down into the valley, you can also take the bus instead of the train to the Hochfügen ski area or continue by train to Mayrhofen.

Is there a ski bus? When does the ski bus run and where is the bus stop?

Take advantage of the free ski connection from Aschau - Kaltenbach - Hochzillertal. From the HochLeger, you can reach the ski slopes in only a few minutes' walk. Via the Aschau valley run, you will reach the town, where you have access to a ski bus that will take you to Kaltenbach. 
The nearest bus stop is called the "Mizun" and can be reached on foot from the HochLeger in only a few minutes. 

Where can I rent skis and ski boots?

The team at our reception desk will be happy to advise you! We recommend our experienced partner Intersport Strasser with a shop right next to DasPosthotel and in the Zillertal Arena valley station. ZillerSeasons guests will receive a 10% discount on ski rental, ski storage, and ski service! 

Can you go tobogganing nearby?

Yes, Austria's longest, floodlit toboggan run is located around 20 minutes away by car in Hainzenberg.

Can you go cross-country skiing in Zell am Ziller?

Yes, when there is sufficient snow, there are many magnificent cross-country trails. 

Questions about sports & recreation in summer

Can I rent a bike on-site?

Yes, you can rent a mountain bike or city bike for free at DasPosthotel.

Can I rent an e-bike on-site?

You can rent e-bikes in various sizes at Intersport Strasser next door to DasPosthotel or in the Zillertal Arena. We recommend reserving your desired e-bike in advance. 

What excursion destinations are there nearby?

Can I play golf? Is there a golf course nearby?

Yes, the 18-hole Golfclub Zillertal in Uderns is only 12 km away. As our guest, you can enjoy a discount which you will receive right at the golf course. You also have the option to purchase the Golf Tirol Card.

Is there a hiking program? Is there a weekly program?

Yes, here in the ZillerSeasons, our guests can enjoy a colorful array of activities with a weekly program and hiking program.  

Are guided hikes offered?
Yes, guided hikes are offered. Our certified mountain guide will take you to all the hiking hot spots and show you unique natural spectacles and viewing points with special features!

Questions about wining & dining

Where can I enjoy breakfast in the HochLeger – Chalet Refugium and in the TreeLofts?

You can enjoy a hearty Alpine breakfast in the MartinerHof, which is located right next to the chalets and TreeLofts. 

When is breakfast offered?

Breakfast is offered daily from 7:30 am to 10:30 am in the Martinerhof in the HochLeger.

Where is lunch offered?

You are welcome to enjoy lunch in one of the ZillerSeasons restaurants. 

Where can I eat dinner and at what times?

You have the option of dining in the ZillerSeasons restaurants DieMarie, Wilde Kräuterküche and Heleni. We offer the daily menus for a discounted price for ZillerSeasons guests. We ask that you make a table reservation by telephone at +43 5282 2236 or via the online table reservation form.

Is there a catering service at the HochLeger?

Yes, our restaurant in DasPosthotel offers our guests at the HochLeger a special DieMarie catering service.

Is there food for guests with lactose and gluten intolerances, wheat flour allergy, diabetes, or other allergies?

Of course, simply let us know prior to your arrival!

Is there a wellness offer?

Yes, in the HochLeger – Chalet Refugium, you can enjoy an extensive wellness offer.  

Is there a pool?

Yes, the HochLeger Chalets have an outdoor sports pool and organic natural swimming pond. 

Is it possible to use the spa in DasPosthotel?

If you stay in the HochLeger, you can use the SPA area in DasPosthotel. Upon request and for a fee.

Is there a day spa in the hotel?

You are welcome to book a day spa in DasPosthotel or in MalisGarten – Green Spa Hotel upon request and based on availability. 

Are there bathrobes?

Bathrobes and towels are available in all our chalets and TreeLofts.

During what hours is the reception desk staffed and is there a reception desk in the HochLeger?
